'Let's Run para sa Kalikasan' in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines - The local government of Bacoor presents "Let’s Run para sa Kalikasan," a fun run on March 3 at 4:30 a.m.

The event aims to launch the implementation of Municipal Ordinance No. 14-S-2002 (regulating the distribution of plastic bags and polystyrene and providing penalties for violations thereof). Some 5,000 participants — composed of local and barangay officials, municipal employees, teachers, students, homeowner associations, nongovernment organizations, environmentalists, civic-oriented groups, among others are expected to join, as their way of supporting this noteworthy cause for the environment.

Similar to the previous local government-organized fun run events, no registration fee is required. Each participant will be asked to bring 10 pieces of plastic bags (12-inch x 12-inch). Registration is ongoing until Feb. 29 at the public information office of the Municipal Hall on weekdays at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Emilus Mart branches (RFC Molino and Brgy Molino 3).
