Delicious new ways to stay fit with Rustan's Supermarket's Gourmet-to-Go

-

MANILA, Philippines - This 2012, turn over a new leaf and start leading a healthy lifestyle with tasty yet guilt-free new dishes from Rustan’s Supermarket’s Gourmet-to-Go.

Beginning January 20, dietician-certified meals will be available at the supermarket’s Gourmet-to-Go counter, (available at Rustan’s Makati-Glorietta, Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza, and Katipunan), which will include Asian and Mediterranean low-calorie choices, as well as vegan options. At approximately 300 calories per serving and all under P220, the line-up offers a mouthwatering yet affordable way to enjoy healthy eating.

Vice president for Food Services Division Beth Romualdez, who took part in conceptualizing and crafting the dishes, explains, “Eating well doesn’t necessarily mean having to deal with bland or tasteless food. With these low-calorie options, we want to make sure that Filipinos can enjoy great food choices that are as delicious as they are healthy.”

Included in the repertoire are delicious meat dishes, such as the healthy and filling beef broccoli with Asian fried brown rice and a reinvented favorite, chicken sate with pickled shiitake and brown rice. There’s also pork tenderloin kebab with yogurt sauce, roasted tomatoes and couscous, a dish that offers a unique fusion of Mediterranean flavors.

Seafood dishes are also available — savor the distinct taste and aroma of authentic Creole-inspired cuisine with Cajun fish fillet with mango salsa and brown rice jambalaya; bask in the succulence of carefully-prepared poached salmon with steamed vegetables and pilaf brown rice; and explore the Japanese interpretation of spring rolls with the haru-maki wrap with sweet chili sauce.

Finally, for vegans, the vegan-Asian chili garlic tofu with garlic brown rice and nilasing na mangga and the roasted vegetable corn relish with mushroom couscous, tomato and onion with garlic aioli offer delightful new ways to enjoy a meat and dairy-free diet.

Rustan’s Gourmet-to-Go counters are located at Glorietta, Makati; Power Plant Mall, Rockwell; Shangri-La Plaza, Edsa; and along Katipunan Road, Quezon City.
