Philips Avent celebrates parenting
MANILA, Philippines – Parenthood is an exciting experience, and by being equipped with the right tools and information, moms and dads can provide the best care for their children. And helpful information is certainly what Philips Avent, a leader in infant and childcare products, provided attendees of the symposium series that it sponsored in partnership with Baby & Company as part of its travel and safety fair.
After similar events at SM Southmall, the symposium was next held in Cebu. The main activity center of SM City Cebu was filled with moms, dads, and kids who attended the joyful parenting seminar hosted by popular TV personality Yuri of GMA 7 Cebu.
As with the previous seminars, the symposium featured informative talks by renowned speakers. Anthony Calibo, MD gave an instructive presentation on various topics, among which is breastfeeding. A pediatrician from St. Luke’s Hospital, Dr. Calibo expounded on the benefits of breastfeeding as well as the importance of establishing this mother-baby bonding experience immediately from birth. Dr. Calibo also talked about milestones in child development, as well as key points to remember to ensure child safety when traveling with infants.
Registered nutritionist Ruby Frane, on the other hand, gave a lecture on proper nutrition for infants, and discussed complementary feeding when the baby reaches six months. She also stressed the importance of safe feeding when traveling with babies, and gave the audience pointers on how they can ensure their child’s nutrition even while on the go. Frane is also from St. Luke’s Hospital.
