Chill out to cool beats at Azzurro Too!

Azzurro Too! at the SM Megastrip, aside from offering great food at affordable prices, also spices up its nights with musical entertainment.
With Mondays to Wednesdays designated as Chill Out Nights, guests can unwind after a hectic day at work to new lounge music. Session Road takes the stage on Thursdays with their brand of alternative rock music, ranging from blues, funk, folk and reggae. Fridays bring in the sounds of Romy Jarolan of Acoustic Jive, alternating with Mute Madness. Brazilian band Guarana livens up Saturday nights with sensual samba and the bossa nova beats.
Kicking off the 2002 musical series is "Azzurro Turns Red," a post-New Year’s party on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Azzurro Too!
A new wine list will also be launched that night, with selections starting at P90 per glass. Medrano Argentian Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 will be offered in a special promo: two glasses and a cheese-and-sausage platter are available for P380.
Two features make Azzurro Too! stand out at the Megastrip. The first is its valet parking service, the only one offered at the mall for customers who may not have the time to park their cars. The second is the mezzanine seating area, which gives this place one of the largest seating areas along the Megastrip, and makes Azzurro Too! ideal for parties, product launches or reunions.
While the menu follows French culinary basics with Italian, Spanish and Greek Mediterranean-inspired dishes that bring a few classics up to date, everything is designed with the more sophisticated Filipino palate in mind. And nothing can meet that challenge better than Azzurro Too!’s Filipino breakfast, starting at P135.
The menu aims to pique the palate from light food, like salads or appetizers, like the spanakopitas or the salmon carpaccio. Hearty meals include pizzas priced at P195 to P240 – piled with sun-ripened tomatoes and olives or delectable slices of sausage, choice morsels from the sea, accompanied with capers and fresh herbs. Paellas are available in single and sharing portions, while the assorted pasta dishes will please meat-lovers, vegetarians and even the cholesterol-conscious.
There’s also a delicatessen for quick and delicious lunches one can take in or out of the premises, or for taking home unique ingredients to serve special guests.
For those who believe in the adage "The more, the merrier," the menu at Azzurro Too! gives everyone plenty to choose from, with some items available in single and sharing portions which should please anyone on a budget.
The tapas d’ Azzurro, priced from P55 to P155, combine imaginative visual presentations with an endless array of diverse flavors to experience. Tapas are a great way to segue from a working day to a night of unwinding in good food and good company.
By the way, there’s no such thing as "happy hour" at Azzurro Too!, since the local beer is priced at P30 per bottle.
Of course, those wishing to spend a more sedate afternoon at Megamall can while away their time with a platter of tapas for merienda, or share a hearty and savory panini with a friend while sipping tea. Or maybe they may take a break from Sunday shopping with the family as everyone indulges in a pizza bursting with flavor.
Azzurro also welcomes gourmets who want a taste of the Mediterranean in their own homes or offices, and are able to cater large parties or intimate gatherings with varying budgets.
