MANILA, Philippines - Mega Magazine features beauty queen Venus Raj as she headlines Mega’s annual “10 Women to Watch.”
“For everything that is happening in our lives, there is a reason why it’s happening,” says Miss Universe fourth runner-up Venus Raj.
If there was anything that the confusion on her birth certificate brought about, it’s the fight for acceptance and standing up for people who are poor and born out of wedlock. The inconsistencies in her birth certificate did not become a hindrance, yet it only increased her eagerness to win back the much-deserved crown. With the Philippine passport granted to her by the DFA as proof of her citizenship, Venus Raj was able to reclaim her crown as the country’s representative to the Miss Universe Pageant.
Mega Magazine’s December issue, Venus narrates that despite the bumps on the road she had to encounter before reclaiming her title, she has managed to accept whatever challenges life throws at her feet. This she owes much to the rough childhood that toughened up her spirit in preparation for such trials. “Perhaps the reason we were poor, the reason I experienced what I did during childhood was that He was preparing me for something bigger,” Venus shares.
