Gallery News: ‘Walong Filipina: Alay sa Manghahabi’ at Liongoren Gallery
MANILA, Philippines - Liongoren Gallery, in cooperation with HABI the Philippine Textile Council, pays homage to Filipina artists and weavers in “Walong Filipina: Alay sa Manghahabi (Tribute to the Weaver),” which opens on March 28, 4 p.m. at Liongoren Galelry, 111 New York Ave., Cubao, QC. The show runs until April 28.
The show features works by UP Fine Arts faculty member and painter Ninel Constantino, Tingguian retired school teacher and weaver Norma Agaid Mina of Penarubia, Abra; visual artist Joy Mallari, Kalinga weaver-entrepreneur Irene Bawer, needle crafter Gabie Osorio of Bangar, La Union; master weaver Flordelita Guileb and crochet wizard Aze Ong with co-founder and warrior-weaver Adelaida Lim of Baguio City.
