Mykonos opens at The City Club

The Greek-themed interiors of Mykonos.
The City Club, one of the most high-end lifestyle and leisure clubs in this part of the metro, recently launched Mykonos, the Greek restaurant named after Mykonos Village — one of the seven themed villages in the super exclusive Balesin Island Club off the coast of Quezon.
Visitors and members of The City Club will certainly enjoy such Greek favorites like moussaka, gyros, souvlaki and the famed grilled lamb ribs and shrimp saganaki, which are also favorites at the popular Greek restaurant in Mykonos Village known as Thanassis Taverna — named after famous Greek restaurateur Thanassis Koumpiadis.
The blue and white interiors of Mykonos restaurant certainly did justice to the themed village after which it was named. For sure, Mykonos is one great addition to the eight other specialty restaurants of The City Club, including Hai Shin Lou, Toscana, Costa del Sol and Salathip.
Among the select guests invited to the launch were US Ambassador Sung Kim, former Vice President Jojo Binay, SMIC vice-chair Tessie Sy-Coson and private financial adviser Lorenzo Tan, PAL’s Jimmy Bautista, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senators Sonny Angara and Chiz Escudero, who was accompanied by his wife Heart Evangelista, and former senator Bongbong Marcos. Former Alphaland president Mario “Babes” Oreta was, of course, present and was seen engaged in a conversation with Alphaland chairman Bobby Ongpin. Photos by Ramon Joseph J. Ruiz
