A whimsical holiday experience
MANILA, Philippines – Christmas is truly for kids! It is important to make worthwhile memories with children especially now that the season of laughter and cheer is already in full swing.
That is why this year, The Manila Hotel presents its Colonial Christmas Village, a whimsical holiday experience for families to enjoy when they stay in the hotel at the heart of Manila.
The hotel’s Christmas Village was recently unveiled by its resident manager Gerhard Doll, who welcomed guests dressed as the Town Mayor, together with AVP for PR and corporate communications Nian Liwanag-Rigor. As a gift to the kids of House of Refuge, the hotel’s chosen beneficiary for this year, they were the first ones to experience to walk down Parsons Street and enjoy the activities of the Christmas village.
This Christmas village will take guests back in time where lampposts are lit to guide them on their tour on Parson’s Street. First stop is at the Town Mayor’s “office” where kids get their passes for little surprises in store for them throughout the village.
At Willy’s Emporium, kids can redeem with their passes or buy their own Willy the Bear as their companion throughout the Christmas season. Unique finds like colonial toy trains and special plush animals from UK-based toyshop Hamleys are also available in the emporium.
Kids can let their imagination fly with storytelling and coloring activities by the “fireplace” every Saturday and Sunday at the Page, Turner & Co. shop beside Willy’s Emporium. Books from Adarna House are sold there as well. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy their time at the Patisserie Bakeshop and Tea Hall, where cotton candy is made and hearty kiddie meals prepared by the hotel’s chefs are served to kids on tables with cute holiday centerpieces. They also get a can of cookies, which they can enjoy for later.
At the end of Parson’s Street is the Grand View Cinema where kids can enjoy comfy leather seats while they watch movies with their own popcorn bag, cotton candy and ice cream bar handed to them before they enter the cinema.
