Demi Lovato is confident

Cool For The Summer, a fun confection aimed at the teen-age crowd, made a good introduction to Demi Lovato’s fifth studio album. But it was her performance of the second single Confident at the American Music Awards that really got me excited about her new recording. She looked great and powerful and she offered up a new sound that is very much her own. At a time when girls are lording it over the charts with remarkable, innovative releases, Demi has now shown that she can stand alongside the best.

The album, also titled Confident, is now out. It is everything Confident said it will be. Armed with a line-up of star producers like Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Jason Evigan, Demi has now realized her full potential as an artist. She has clearly matured. She sounds strong and sexy. She sings with fantastic range. She raps. She has soul. She is confident in every cut.

Those who liked Confident and Cool For The Summer will be floored by the rest that the album offers. This is an engaging collection of hit singles. The dramatic Stone Cold, where Demi shows such a depth of emotions, will bring this to new heights if released as a single. Father is another one. The beat-laden Waiting For You featuring Sirah and Mr. Hughes are fun and infectious. Wildfire, Old Ways, Lionheart and Yes are hook-laden. For You, Stars and Kingdom Come featuring Iggy Azalea falter a bit but everything else is great.

Pretty amazing this girl Demi. Not just because she came out with another great album that is selling very well but for all the other remarkable things she is involved with nowadays. Remember, she had problems that took her to rehab and nearly endangered her life before. In fact, she is said to have spent a year in a sober living facility by her own choice to battle various mental and physical problems.  

But judging from the way she looks and her singing in Confident, it looks she has changed for the better. Just take a look at these. Her last album Demi hit No. 1 on iTunes in over 50 countries and produced the Platinum-selling singles Heart Attack, Neon Lights and Really Don’t Care. There was also the phenomenal pop version of Let It Go that was used in the soundtrack of the movie Frozen.

 Demi now has over 21 million Instagram followers, 30 million Twitter followers and 37 million Facebook fans. Demi has also become a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. She recently launched her own skin care line, Devonne by Demi. She is also a New York Times bestselling author for the books Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year and Staying Strong, A Journal about her physical struggles. 

Closest to her heart though is her role as a philanthropist. Demi is an outspoken advocate for causes close to her heart. She remains devoted to giving back and serves as a role model for young people by sharing her personal experiences. In honor of her late father, she launched The Lovato Treatment Scholarship which raises awareness for mental health and addiction issues, while providing funds to those who cannot otherwise afford treatment.

Demi’s Nightingale song from her Demi album is one of the featured tracks in the eighth volume of the hit compilation The Hottest Hits Ever. Now this particular issue is really more than a hit compilation. It is actually a look at some of the year’s biggest hits, the songs by which we will all remember the soon to end 2016.
