Kris Aquino on mom Cory: She’s the best role model

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino remembered her mom Cory Aquino as their family commemorates her sixth death anniversary.

Former President Corazon Aquino died in August 1, 2009 due to colon cancer.

On Saturday, Kris posted a photo collage with different portraits of her mom.

In the caption, Kris remembered how Cory served as a good role model to them, especially on being a good parent.

 

6 years ago, almost to this hour, our Mom went to heaven... The 5 of us grew even closer since we lost her, I think because we all realized we just have each other. We're not a perfect family, but we've really been blessed because we continue to make a conscious effort to support, appreciate, and be there for each other. The 1st portrait is an Amorsolo, dated 1954- our dad's 21st birthday gift to our Mom. The 2nd portrait is by Ang Kiukok dated 1972, our dad's birthday gift to our mom when she turned 39. Both are w/ me in my home because I asked our Mom for them... The black & white picture my sisters found in our home in Times when they were sorting through our Mom's things, it's my favorite because I was a cutie & Bimb & I really look alike in this shot, and the last picture was from our last family Christmas card w/ our Mom in 2008... To all of you who comment that you admire me as a Mom to Kuya & Bimb, it's because I had the best role model in my Mom. And the best tribute I can give her is to continue working hard to provide a good life for my sons, while making sure that they know that they have my unconditional love & lifelong devotion. “To all of you who comment that you admire me as a Mom to Kuya & Bimb, it's because I had the best role model in my Mom,” she said.

“The best tribute I can give her is to continue working hard to provide a good life for my sons, while making sure that they know that they have my unconditional love & lifelong devotion.”

The Queen of All Media also noted that their family’s loss six years ago made them closer with each other since “we realized we just have each other.”
