Kitchen Stories airs on GMA News TV

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - There are stories in the kitchen that are just waiting to be told. Join the three dashing student-chefs JM de Jesus, Charles Zabala and James Torres as they discover for themselves not only the joys of cooking but also valuable lessons that can be applied to daily life in the newest GMA News TV series, Kitchen Stories.

The Center for Culinary Arts (CCA Manila), the country’s pioneer and premier institution for culinary learning, makes a breakthrough in the broadcast platform with a cooking show series that features young students showcasing their skills as they address day-to-day concerns experienced by people their age.

Each 15-minute episode will feature the young student-chefs who are compelled to accomplish 13 mini-web cooking shows as a return of good deed to their school. They will deal with situations that are commonly encountered in the household kitchen, like how to prepare food for a housewarming event, what are easy-to-cook healthy alternatives, or what ingredients to get to cook budget-friendly dishes and many others.

Mark Reyes V is the director of the show. Chef Mira Cruz, CCA chef-instructor and senior chef consultant for the newly-opened Epicurious restaurant in the East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza Mall, is consultant of the show.

“There is more to Kitchen Stories than just cooking. The show aims to entice the youth to consider the joys of kitchen wisdom as part of growing up. We are excited with the premise of a show that has fresh faces and vibrant personalities who are real culinary students, and not actors or hosts pretending to do a cooking show. The situations and challenges in every episode are  something that the viewers can relate to and the lessons they can adapt in their own personal spaces,” explained Anne Certeza-Palmares, CCA Manila PR manager.

The TV series aims to target a young demographic (15 years and above). Viewers will relate to the problems and challenges that the cast will encounter, and these may encourage them to pursue a life-changing decision in pursuit of a career in the restaurant industry, as the culinary arts is a promising and popular course now and in the years to come. The show also aims to capture food enthusiasts and people who might want to entertain the possibility of a cooking career even at home.

Produced by CRAVINGS eTV which is affiliated with the Cravings Group of Companies, including CCA, Kitchen Stories will be aired on GMA NewsTV, a free TV channel, from 4:55 to 5:10 p.m. on Saturdays.

Kitchen Stories is supported by Elba, KitchenAid and SM Supermalls. For details, visit the official website at www.cravingsetv.com or like its official Facebook page at facebook.com/cravingsetv.
