Legends & fairytales in Sunday All Stars
Rosalinda L. Orosa (The Philippine Star) - September 15, 2013 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines - Last Sunday, the first cycle of the all-out showdown on GMA 7’s Sunday All Stars officially came to a close with the Standout Awards. Today, the playing field has once again been leveled, with a new batch of team leaders and a refreshed line-up of artists within Tropang Trending, Tweethearts, Instagang and Ligang iLike.

Witness Mark Herras’ determined leadership style as he takes the reins behind Instagang. The Jay-R now bears the name of Tropang Trending and with him, a new breed of feisty individuals. Kyla will put her stamp on the quirky Ligang iLike, and is confident with the aid of her formidable members. The youngest team leader, Alden Richards, will head the Tweethearts into potential victory.

All artists will explode into the new scene with a high-energy opening number which will help set the pace for this week’s theme for the competition: Legends and Fairytales. Each team has been tasked to choose the legends or fairytales that they wanted to incorporate into their numbers, so expect grandiose productions from each of them.

Don’t forget to peek into the controversial happenings as the teams meet their new league for the first time and the tension that happens behind-the-scenes. This early on, Jay-R seemed to have a slight conflict with headstrong member Rochelle Pangilinan when it came to conceptualizing their number. Mark is feeling the pressure now that he’s fully in command of his team. Other members who were originally involved in word wars against each other now find themselves as allies, and that could either spell disaster or it could provoke them to challenge themselves even further.

Adding extra entertainment into the mix are the cast members of GMA 7’s Afternoon Prime shows Basang Sisiw, Pyra and Maghihintay Pa Rin. My Husband’s Lover’s Carla Abellana is all set to take a step towards the music industry as she launches a new single on the show. Lovi Poe will also share the spotlight with no less than Kuh Ledesma as they sing a hit that the latter originally made popular.

And don’t miss the revolutionized Kalerki-oke as four representatives from the teams battle it out in the much-loved comical musical game, this time with a twist, fit for a new cycle.

Be sure not to miss anything today, and tune in for the opening until the very end because the action is just beginning, and the controversy behind the scenes is never-ending.
