My favorite Christmas recipes

Major, Major - Venus Raj -

Filipinos are food-loving people and the Christmas season is a special celebration where we can have a taste of our favorite food. Maybe it is still unknown to many that I love to eat different kinds of food. I am not really that conscious with my diet because I have observed that I do not gain weight even if I eat a lot of food. I just make myself believe that even if I did not really get to know my real father, he still left me with this noticeable height and good body structure.

My friends and I love to try different food items whenever we go to various places and I would like to share with all of you some of those foods that have captured my heart and my stomach. You can also think of having these on your table on Christmas Eve for a more sumptuous meal with your family and loved ones.

• White Chocolate Cheesecake – On top of my list is the best-seller of Travel Cakes. This will surely have you wanting for more because of its unique taste. It is also perfect for family gathering because the children will love this sweet selection. Travel Cakes also offers other cheesecake flavors like blueberry, pumpkin and dark chocolate. Isabel Bengzon and Nicky Daez started Travel Cakes late last year to fund their back-packing trip around South East Asia. Now, Nicky’s brother, Michael Daez, is also a business partner who aims to expand and promote the business. To experience the sweet treat offered by Travel Cakes, you can call Nicky at 0915-3144694 or e-mail them at [email protected].

Blueberry Cheesecake

• Major Major Love Affair – My friends from Miss Philippines Earth brought me to this restaurant in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City named Gayuma ni Maria. They offer a bewitching menu with unique food items like Please Be Careful with My Heart and Rock me Baby. They also provide a romantic environment for lovers and friends. But they have this very unique and mouth-watering salad which they call Major Major Love Affair, of course named after my major major answer during the Miss Universe competition. If you are in for a completely different and indulging meal, you can contact Gayuma ni Maria at +639216818989 or e-mail them at [email protected].

• Spaghetti al Pesto – Who would forget to put pasta on their table during Christmas Eve? For those who want to break away from the conventional sweet style of spaghetti, you can try Pizza Huts’s Spaghetti al Pesto. The black olives and almond flakes make this pasta more in demand for Italian pasta lovers. You can order this at any Pizza Hut store or you can visit their website at www.pizzahut.com.ph.

• Pichi Pichi — Whenever we have gatherings at home, pichi-pichi is a resident food on our table. I like its sweet blend with cheese or coconut. Amber Golden Chain of Restaurants offers the best pichi-pichi in town. I have been a suki the day I first tasted pichi-pichi. They have stores in Makati, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa and Quezon City. For more information on their offerings, you can visit their website at www.amberestaurant.com.

Christmas is about celebrating love and hope with your family and loved ones. It is only proper for you to treat the people you love with food that will surely satisfy their hunger for delectable items. This is one way of showing them that Christmas is really a time for spending time together and enjoying delicious food together.

Bukas na tayo mag diet =)
