Encantadia

Prepare to enter and journey through the enchanting realm of Encantadia – a magical world divided into four kingdoms: Adamya, home of the Adamyans; Sapiro, land of Sapiryans; Lireo, realm of the Diwatas and Hathoria, domain of the Hathors. The peace and balance in Encantadia rest on the power of four precious stones – the gemstones of water, earth, wind, and fire. This mythical world shall open its doors to Pinoy viewers this May on GMA 7.

With the success of Mulawin, GMA has now become the prime makers of telefantasya, now reigning supreme when it comes to this genre. And Encantadia is definitely another amazing telefantasya to watch out for. It is GMA’s biggest production to date, and also its most ambitious one. The mesmerizing story unfolds weeknights, beginning May 2, on GMA’s primetime block.

Directed by Mark Reyes and Gil Tejada, Jr., Encantadia will bring viewers to a completely different world – a world of powerful fairies, brave warriors, lovable and mythical creatures and ferocious friends. This grand production showcases Filipino creativity and ingenuity at its best, from the set to the costumes, props, and the fantastic story itself. GMA’s brilliant production team painstakingly created the elaborate world of Encantadia, from the grand throne room and place of worship in Lireo to the dark and dismal domain of Hathoria. The costumes, makeup, and props are colorful and intricately designed. It will also be the first production to make use of animated puppets and conquer the whole of Encantadia.

The other kingdoms then decide to entrust the four stones to Ynang Reyna (played by Dawn Zulueta). However, the time would come for her to turn over the stones and her throne to one of her four Diwata daughters: Pirena (Sunshine Dizon), Amihan (Iza Calzado), Alena (Karylle), and Danaya (Diana Zubiri). However, the certainty of the war’s end and the return of peace in Encantadia rely on a power greater than magic: love.

The stellar cast of Encantadia includes Dingdong Dantes as the great warrior Ybarro; Jennylyn Mercado as Lira/Milagros; Mark Herras as Anthony, Milagros’ love interest; Yasmien Kurdi as Mira; Pen Medina as Hagorn, the evil Hathor leader; John Regala as Apitong; Pinky Amador as Carmen, Anthony’s socialite mother; Polo Ravales as the fearless Lireo warrior; Nancy Castiglione as Muyak, the adorable pixie fairy; Alfred Vargas as Aquil, chief of the forces of Lireo; Jay Aquitania as Banjo, best friend to Milagros; Irma Adlawan as Amanda, evil stepmom of Milagros; Girlie Sevilla as Gurna, Pirena’s dama; Leila Kuzman as the Hathor Agane; Gayle Valencia as Dinnan Milagros’ cruel stepsister; and Ehra Madrigal as Gigi, friend of Milagros .

Al Tantay, Ian Veneracion, and Allan Paule also lend their special participation to the epic drama. To make Encantadia even more astounding, Richard Gomez lends his steller presence as he plays a special guest role as Raquim, Amilan’s father.

Making the world of Encantadia even more colorful are the lovable creatures from Admya: Awoo, a humongous dog-like creature, the cute twosome Banak and Nakba, and the wise Imaw who is head of Adamya.

Encantadia brings every child and the child-at-heart’s most amazing fantasy to life. No other program on television has ever been this enchanting.
