MANILA, Philippines - Italpinas Euroasian Design and Eco-Development Corp. has bagged the award for Best Mixed-Use Development in the Philippines at the recent Asia Pacific Property Awards held at the Shangri-la Hotel-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Italpinas won for its flagship project, Primavera Residences, the first condominium development in Cagayan de Oro that highlights passive design features to help solve common property-related environment issues.vThe building has cantilevered edges and brise soleil shades that blocks the heat from the sun’s rays before they hit the buildings’ windows, helping reduce the building temperature. Primavera also features an inner courtyard that lets natural light to come into the buildings while creating a funnel effect that allows air to come in the towers and criss-cross from unit to unit, giving a cooling effect. Dr. Jose P. Leviste Jr., non-executive chairman of Italpinas (second from left), receives the award for Best Mixed-Use Property-Philippines at the Asia Pacific Property Awards in Kuala Lumpur, from Matteo Lupi, export manager of SMEG; Lord Courtown, chairman of the Architecture and Interior Design Committee of the International Property Awards, and Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards.
