BPI, McDo offer mobile services

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and McDonald’s Philippines, have jointly pioneered the country’s first cashless mobile-based food delivery system, the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall McDelivery service.

Powered by BPI-i.Can unparalleled technology, McDelivery can now be on every Filipino’s mobile menu.

“BPI innovates its electronic services in line with the country’s continuously growing mobile technology industry.

Taking our first step this year, we are pioneering a service that will provide more convenience to our customers as they bank with us.

Now they can have and pay for their favorite McDonald’s through their mobile phones as BPI brings McDelivery in our Mobile Mall,” Teresita Tan, Executive BPI vice president and and head of Overseas Banking and Channels Services Group, said during the formal launching held at the McDonalds outlet along Paseo de Roxas in Makati.

To access the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall, a BPI Express Online Account user must register to the BPI Express Mobile Service, download and activate the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall applet.

To order, simply choose McDelivery from the Mobile Mall, select desired McDonald’s food item from the menu and fill out contact information for the delivery.

After the payment process through the user’s BPI account, a confirmation number and message on mobile and email will appear.

Through i.Can Worldwide’s technology, the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall is able to provide BPI account users convenient mobile banking service which includes ordering and paying for the services of BPI’s accredited merchants. McDelivery is the newest addition to the Mobile Mall.

“For 30 years, McDonald’s has been committed in providing Filipinos with great-tasting affordable meals and excellent service.

This 2011, McDonald’s once again strengthens this commitment to provide efficient and convenient service with another first- fast-food delivery through mobile.

Partnering with BPI and i.Can to bring the first cashless mobile-based delivery, will surely provide our customers with their favorite McDonald’s meals, anytime, anywhere,” says Margot Torres, McDonald’s vice president for marketing and communications.

Customers may choose from the wide array of McDonald’s meals including french fries, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with cheese, cheeseburger, Chicken McNuggets to Chicken McDo, McSpaghetti and Hot Fudge sundae.

The Mobile Mall is available for McDelivery transactions or delivery addresses in Metro Manila and key cities nationwide such as Cavite, Laguna, Lipa, Tarlac, Cebu, and Davao.

Because of this cashless system, customers now have the option to order and pay in one place and have them delivered to another.

As the country’s first electronic bank, BPI leads the banking industry to higher grounds this year as it capitalizes on its strength in electronic technology.

Further empowering the consumers through mobile technology, BPI bridges opportunities for easier and convenient connections.

Aside from McDelivery, the BPI-i.Can Mobile Mall has the following merchants: Ayala Malls Cinemas, Philips, MemoXpress, Power Mac Center, Rustan’s Department Store, Stores Specialists Inc., and Shopwise.
