Maker of plastic casings to put up $14-M plant in Clark

MANILA, Philippines - Viskase Asia Pacific Corp., the global leader in the supply of cellulose, fibrous and plastic casings will be investing up to $14 million for the establishment of a manufacturing plant for various packaging materials for meat products in Clark Freeport Zone.

CDC President Felipe Antonio B. Remollo and Viskase Asia Pacific Corp. President Jean Luc-Tillon signed the lease agreement at the CDC (Clark Development Corp.) Corporate Headquarters recently. On June 7, CDC and Viskase officials led the groundbreaking ceremonies in a 39,600-square meter area at the Industrial Estate 5.

According to Remollo, Viskase will initially invest up to $14 million with an expected employment of 100 to 150 workers once fully operational. Its projected export, Remollo added, is $40 million during its first three years of operations.

Remollo said Viskase is pioneer in the manufacturing, converting, shirring, printing, exporting, importing, purchasing, selling, reselling, and distributing cellulose, collagen and plastic casings and packaging materials for meat product.
