San Marino goes all out for 2011 Chefs on Parade

MANILA, Philippines - San Marino, an innovative brand of canned tuna products, went out for the 2011 Chefs on Parade - the biggest, the brightest and the best culinary show in Southeast Asia which was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City Feb. 10 to 12, 2011.

San Marino, which has gained reputation in the food industry for introducing innovative and customized products for the hotel and restaurant industry, supported the holding of Chefs on Parade which demonstrated the best of what the hotel and restaurant industry has to offer on a 10,000 square meter exhibition area at the SMX Convention Center.

“We realize that the hotel and restaurant industry is growing and we want to be its partner in developing healthy cuisines or dishes that aim for healthy lifestyle,” said Jerome Ong, president of Foodsphere Inc., the maker of San Marino tuna products.

Aside from product expositions and taste samplings, San Marino products were used as ingredients in the Chefs on Parade segment on healthy lifestyle competitions.

Ong said San Marino’s participation in the 2011 Chefs on Parade demonstrates its commitment for excellence in the food industry as well as its support for the hotel and restaurant industry, in terms of providing innovative, healthy and high-quality food products. 

San Marino is known for its Hearty Line products which include San Marino Corned Tuna, Chili Corned Tuna, Tuna Paella, Tuna Fillet, Blue Mackerel and Tuna Spread.

Now on its 27th run, Chefs on Parade is Asia’s longest running culinary competition participated in by thousands of culinary professionals and students from the Philippines and the rest of Asia.  It is organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP).

The Chefs on Parade event took on the theme Ultimate Asian Showdown to showcase the skills and talents of globally competitive culinary experts and the products and services of the hotel and restaurant industry in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The event featured culinary and mixology competitions in 23 categories, including 14 in the professional division and nine in the student division.
