Philippines XI bracketed with Australia

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines will be in for a tough task in the 2022 AFC Women’s Asia Cup after being bracketed in the loaded Group B bannered by powerhouse Australia.

Also in the group with the Philippines and world No. 11 Australia, which finished fourth in the Tokyo Olympics, are Thailand and Indonesia as a result of the official AFC draw yesterday.

The Asian Cup is slated Jan. 20 to Feb. 6 next year in India, where five seats are at stake for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
