Cops speak to Mayweather about murder-suicide

The Philippine Star

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police have spoken to boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. about the murder-suicide of rapper Earl Warren Hayes and his wife but details aren't being released.

A Police Department statement says detectives spoke with Mayweather on Wednesday but they're keeping the information confidential.

Mayweather was an acquaintance of 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes. Police say Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Elyse Moseley, and then took his own life in their apartment on Monday.

Investigators had wanted to talk to Mayweather following media reports that he may have spoken to Hayes before the murder-suicide.

Police have said Hayes and Moseley were estranged but recently had tried to reconcile. They haven't released a motive for the killings.

Moseley, a dancer-actress, was in the VH1 show "Hit the Floor."
