PCCr, St. Claire clash in PCCL NCR qualifier

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine College of Criminology takes on St. Claire College today at the start of the Metro Manila qualifying games of the Champions League (PCCL) 2014 National Collegiate Championship at the Technological Institute of the Philippines.

The PCCr Golden Panthers, the UCLAAI champions, clash with NAASCU runner-up St. Claire at 2 p.m. while ISAA titlist PMMS collides with NCBL winner Diliman College at 4 p.m.

Two slots are at stake for the Luzon-MM qualifying games.

Centro Escolar University, champion of NAASCU and MNCAA, advanced outright to the step-ladder knockout games of the Luzon-MM games, joining UAAP teams La Salle and Ateneo and NCAA squads Jose Rizal and University of Perpetual Help Altas.

Two more regional games are scheduled during the first week of November to complete the line-up of the Luzon-MM games.

The South Luzon-Bicol games will be held Nov. 3-4 at the J.C. Robredo Coliseum, Naga City with the champion teams from Sorsogon, Quezon province, Naga, Tabaco, Batangas, Cavite and Laguna taking part.

The North-Central Luzon regional games, on the other hand, are set Nov. 3-5 at Lyceum North Western University Gym, Dagupan City. Participating are the collegiate champions of Vigan, Baguio-Benguet, Pangasinan, La Union, Pampanga and Zambales.

The Champions League (PCCL) National Collegiate Championship is sponsored by ABS-CBN, Phoenix Petroleum, Molten Balls, Fil-Oil Flying V Sports, SM Tickets, Fog City Creamery and Foccacia.
