Kings ride on Tenorio's career game
MANILA, Philippines - The Brgy. Ginebra Kings banked on LA Tenorio's career night, giving coach Ato Agustin his first win, 98-85, Saturday at the expense of the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Gilas Pilipinas playmaker was spectacular in this particular night dropping a career-high 34 points and laced it up with seven rebounds and seven assists.
The 5-8 point guard was perfect from the three-point territory sinking all of his five shots.
The Bolts, who missed the services of Mac Cardona due to an injury, found no answer to Tenorio in dropping to their second straight loss after opening the tournament with a victory.
Import Dior Lowhorn, Mark Caguioa and new recruit Japeth Aguilar added 17, 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Kings, who rebounded from their opening loss to Agustin's former team Petron Blaze Boosters.
Mario West paced the Bolts with 21 points while John Wilson and rookie Cliff Hodge tallied 17 and 16, in that order.
