Roach sees clean fight in rematch
Chances are he’s going to get it.
Roach said Thursday he doesn’t see anything coming out of the dirty tricks department during Manny Pacquiao’s rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez tomorrow night at
Roach believes that Marquez is a fighter as clean as Pacquiao.
“He’s not a dirty fighter,” said Roach. “I don’t see anything (untoward) happening. Both fighters are very clean fighters. They’re pretty clean fighters.”
Roach said Pacquiao and Marquez trained so long, so hard for this fight that it would be very unfortunate if something nasty happens.
“They’re both gentlemen. They’re both similar in approach,” he added.
Roach compared Marquez to Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales, two other great Mexican boxers who’ve had great rivalries with Pacquiao.
“Well, Barrera may be a little dirty because he has the tendency to use his head. Erik? He can get physical sometimes. But the three fights we had were pretty clean, and nothing really intentional,” said Roach. – Abac Cordero
