Thomas Sabo goes Pop Asian

CHUVANESS - Cecile Van Straten -

HONGKONG —    Global jewelry brand Thomas Sabo launched its sterling silver Fall/Winter 2011 collection at Dragon-I in Central, hosted by Sara Lee and Thomas Sabo communications manager Hanny Freund, who flew in from Germany.

Cantopop singer/actress Ella Koon modeled key pieces from Pop Now: The Exotic Issue, inspired by Far East culture, where symbols such as pandas, fans, pagodas, dragons, swords, lanterns and feathers are worked into glamorous jewelry pieces.

Colors of the season are predominantly black and white, dark red, and purple.

Seen on celebrities and singers such as Katy Perry and Beth Ditto, socialites Olivia Palermo and Nicky Hilton, model Jesus Luz, and Formula One racer Nico Rosberg, the high-end silver jewelry brand was founded by Thomas Sabo in Germany in 1984.

Today the international lifestyle brand is known for a wide range of charms, watches and fragrances sold in more than 200 Thomas Sabo shops, with over 2,800 wholesale partners worldwide.

Working closely with creative designer Susanne Koelbli, Thomas Sabo draws inspiration from daily impressions, traveling and fashion runways around the world, with each closely analyzed before it goes into production.

New collections under Seasonal, Rebel and Classic are launched twice a year, based on the latest fashion trends, while key pieces such as skulls, the lily cross, fleur de lys, wings, keys, and the peace symbol are kept every season.

Last season the top global sellers were the winged heart, butterfly and rabbits, which were especially popular in Asia.

What makes Thomas Sabo unique among other accessory brands is the ability to create your own personal jewelry through its Charm Club, offering a wide range of charms in high quality, unique designs.

A wide range of pendants, bracelets and necklaces for different age groups can be mixed and matched for every occasion and can be worn Thomas Sabo watches designed to match perfectly.

Last May, Thomas Sabo Philippines managing partners Eric and Cheryl Lee successfully opened their first store on the second level of the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, while two new stores are expected to open this September at Shangri-La Plaza and November at SM Mall of Asia.
