MANILA, Philippines — A motorist pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt was arrested for alleged possession of 10 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P69 million in Allen, Northern Samar on Tuesday afternoon.

Mangayao Mitomara, 40, was driving a Toyota Vios when he was flagged down by operatives of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) along the highway in Barangay Juabasan at around 2:45 p.m., Eastern Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Rommel Franciso Marbil said.

Mitomara was also found to be driving an unregistered vehicle.

When brought to the HPG office, Marbil said the suspect admitted that there were packs of shabu in his vehicle.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, who inspected the car of the suspect, found the illegal drugs wrapped in green Chinese tea bags with markings of “Guanyinwang.”

In Davao del Norte, Junifer Malayao, who was arrested for allegedly killing his employer, businessman Ansary Acmad, reportedly yielded 495 grams of shabu worth P3 million.

Acmad was driving his Mitsubishi pickup with his wife in the front seat when Malayao, who was in the backseat, reportedly shot him in the head several times upon arriving at the victim’s home in Purok 1, Barangay Suawon in New Corella on Tuesday.

A 9mm pistol was also reportedly recovered from the suspect.

In Lanao del Norte, Samsodin Diarolah, 35, who was arrested in a sting in Kapatagan town, was reportedly found in possession of shabu worth P3.4 million. –  Robertzon Ramirez, Diana Suelto, John Unson
