ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A 17-year-old girl, who was prevented by her mother from going out due to the enhanced community quarantine, set their house on fire in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur on Sunday.

Police said the girl, identified only as Macel, was furious after her mother hid the key of their motorcycle to prevent her from roaming around.

Macel reportedly torched a pile of dried coconut and banana leaves and hurled these into their house in Purok 4, Barangay Buenaswerte.

The flames quickly spread around the house, which was made of light materials.

Arson probers placed the damage at P50,000.
