DPWH reblocking in QC over the weekend

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday advised motorists to brace for heavy traffic in some parts of Quezon City as the Department of Public Works and Highways will conduct road reblocking works over the weekend.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the reblocking started at 10 p.m. last night and will affect the following:

(southbound) along Araneta Avenue from Calamba St. to Quezon Avenue, 2nd lane, along Fairview Avenue from Peacock St. to Winston St. (1st lane), along Mindanao Avenue (2nd and 3rd lane), along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue / C-5 between Mercury Avenue and Richmond Avenue (2nd lane)

(northbound) along C.P. Garcia Avenue, Quezon City, University Avenue to Maginhawa Street (2nd lane)

(westbound) along Congressional Avenue from Gertrudes Street to Ayshire Street (1st lane), and along Congressional Avenue Extension (2nd lane, eastbound and westbound)

According to engineer Neomi Recio, head of the MMDA Traffic Engineering Cente, the areas to be reblocked were recommended by DPWH – National Capital Region Director Reynaldo Tagudando.

The reblocking will last until last until 5 a.m. Monday, October 13, the MMDA said.
