Three men and one big fight: Ateneo basketball stars on NU 107

MANILA, Philippines - The UAAP basketball season has kicked off and the school spirit abounds with cheerleaders, spectators, fans and die-hard alumni all rooting for their favorite players on the court. 

With Ateneo de Manila University’s consecutive two-year championship streak, the Blue Eagles are shooting for their third this season.

Among  Ateneo’s top guns are Kirk Long and Jason Escueta, who will be coming in tomorrow at the NU 107 station to guest on The Magazine Show.

Originally from Kansas City, USA, Kirk has always been an athlete playing basketball, baseball, and volleyball, but he is most known for being one of Ateneo’s prize recruits showing top offensive skills as the team’s shooting guard.  

Jason, hailing from Los Angeles, California has always dreamed of joining for the Blue Eagles, and season 73 is his first year playing for the UAAP tournament as their power forward.

With the two players is Ateneo basketball team manager Paolo Trillo.  An alumnus of the Ateneo  in Communication Arts, Paolo is the scion of basketball royalty.He played basketball in his youth before becoming courtside reporter in college, and now  PBA sportscaster. Paolo is also owner of one of Manila’s hot spots, Fiamma.

Catch Kirk Long, Jason Escueta and Paolo Trillo on July 17, Saturday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on with The Magazine Show host, fashion model Raya Mananquil and surfer-photographer Mark Dimalanta. 

Also on NU 107,catch The Reel Score  from 11 am with rock jock, writer, and voice actor Roanna Ruiz and Filipino-Dutch freelance writer and marketing consultant Martin Jelsma as they play tracks from the movie 50 First Dates.
