Food fusion at SM BF Parañaque

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The BF area has long been known as the ultimate food hub in the South. It is the place where many exciting food concepts have begun, and where foodies make long trips to dine in their only-at-BF specialty restaurants.

When SM Prime opened its 48th mall, SM BF Parañaque, late last year, planning the food-scape was a major consideration.  And today, it is a food hub in itself with its mix of traditional and new concepts, specialty restaurants and bakeshops, as well as the best of Eastern and Western cuisine.  Here are some great reasons why it’s time to visit SM BF Parañaque for great food finds:

Tapas and Wine at Guernica’s. As the fourth generation of the popular restaurant chain, Guernica’s Tapas Bar and Restaurant brings the Guernica tradition of authentic Spanish cuisine, fine-dining service, and a great selection of wine to a whole new generation of food enthusiasts. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy day in the office or for the family to enjoy a weekend reunion.

Chinese Contempo at Toho Antigua.  In 1888, five friends opened Toho Antigua in Binondo, Manila. Known as a foodie destination, the restaurant is still open in Binondo, and today brings its authentic recipes along with a fresh menu of contemporary Chinese fare cooked using traditional techniques to the South Metro area.

Healthy and hearty shabu-shabu at Thousand Cranes.  This Japanese version of the hotpot is best shared with a bowl of rice and good friends at Thousand Cranes Restaurant and Shabu Shabu.

The diner experience at Chopstop.  Its homey American ambience and hearty meals make Chopstop the perfect stop for those who crave good old home cooking.  It’s a great place for American comfort food lovers with its pork and chicken chops, meatloaf and mac ’n’ cheese selections.

Mochi donuts at Gavino’s Japanese Donuts.  This is not your typical donut place, with gooey, chewy mochi donuts taking center stage in delicious Bavarian, green tea, and cream cheese flavors. It also has Pon de Ring donuts topped with anything from nuts to gummy bears to bacon bits and chili. Gavino’s Japanese Donuts is on the 2nd floor of SM BF.

Daily bread from Manna Bakery Café.  Manna’s baked goodies are said to be so good that, taking off from its name, they give one a taste of heaven. Apart from breads and pastries, Manna also offers mouthwatering versions of chowder soup, chicken and beef pot pies and baked macaroni. Best of all, their products are made without additives and preservatives.

Ensaymada a la Mary Grace. Known for her delightful, melt-in the mouth ensaymadas, Mary Grace Dimacali gives foodies more to crave: wonderful cakes and pies, as well as pastas, sandwiches, and entrees with a home-cooked feel. Country-style interiors make dining in Mary Grace Café truly a graceful experience.

Cupcakes and comfort food at My Little Buttercup.  Cupcakes at My Little Buttercup are light, moist, and filled with homespun goodness. It’s also the place to go for delicious comfort food.

Singapore’s best at Twelve Cupcakes. It is said that Twelve Cupcakes sold over three million pieces in a short period of time, making it the best cupcake-ry in the Lion City. Now one doesn’t have to travel far to know why Twelve Cupcakes takes the cake in Singapore.

Soya specialties at Mr. Bean.  Singapore’s No. 1 soya franchise comes to town with Mr. Bean’s freshly made taho, ice-blended soya drinks, soya pancakes, ice cream, pastries, and more.

Once Upon a Milkshake. Another Singapore brand, Once Upon a Milkshake is something to sigh for, with their signature milkshakes using their soft-serve ice cream, quality low-fat milk plus the flavor of your choice.

Dakasi’s Bubble Tea.  Dakasi brings Taiwan’s unique pearl milk teas to Manila.  Since it began in Taiwan in 1990, Dakasi has been known for its innovative specialty tea drinks.
