Love to cook? Let McCormick help you out

- Dexter Rodrigo Matilla -

MANILA, Philippines – McCormick, a brand that has been a part of the daily Filipino cuisine for the longest time, has just made cooking easier—with the help of social media.

McCormick launched recently its first Facebook app called McCormick Flavor HQ, which extends to a mobile website. It is a unique and practical app that features recipes ranging from appetizers to mains to desserts and even beverages containing McCormick's herbs and spices.

Budding chefs—and even experienced ones—can prepare a simple 3 to 4-course meal by simply following the recipes on the app. An example would be Herb Crouton

Salad for starters then followed by a main course of Gingered Chicken with Mango and Cilantro. Dessert comes next via the Rosemary Chocomint Cookies, which goes well with McCormick’s take on the Mexican Coffee.

The recipe names connote a wealth of flavorful goodness but little is it known that the featured recipes also have a good impact on one’s overall health. Healthy herbs and spices, also known as the McCormick Super Spices, are frequently highlighted to showcase that these dishes are not only packed with good flavor, but are also good for the body.

In line with McCormick's tagline Brings Passion to Flavor, Flavor HQ pushes users to be creative and to take inspiration from the collection of recipes featured so they can create their own.

Users who create their own recipes can submit them for a chance to be published in the app. User uploads will be reviewed by McCormick and will get a chance to receive a McCormick gift pack.

Other features of the app includes bookmarking favorite recipes, adding a personal twist by putting in notes on digital index cards and recipes can easily be shared.

An added feature introduced by McCormick is that users will also be able to refer to the Flavor HQ recipes via a mobile website. Access to the site (from any smart phone) will be facilitated via QR codes on point-of-sale materials. By scanning those codes using their phone camera, shoppers will be taken to the site.

There, they will be able to quickly check the composition of a specific recipe or get some last minute cooking inspiration like adding a pinch of Rosemary to Chocomint Cookies or Ice Tea.

To start discovering flavors, go to http://apps.facebook.com/flavorhq using any computer or scan the QR code below from your mobile.

Should you not have a QR code reader, you may access the mobile site at http://mobile.mccormick.com.ph/

Both the Facebook application and mobile website were developed by Dual Action Blender, the digital agency of McCormick.
