Traditional green papaya salad and tom yam at Thai Patio

Thai Patio at Greenbelt 5 is known for its traditional Thai cuisine.

Try the beef salad with Thai eggplant, the traditional Thai green papaya salad, pomelo salad, glass noodle salad with seafood, and the spicy beef salad on grilled Portobello mushrooms, chicken or pork satay and deep-fried marinated tuna. Also served are native Thai selections of soups such as tom yum prawn or seafood, chicken or seafood coconut soup with galangal, hot and spicy pork knuckle clear soup with basil, and stuffed bitter melon clear soup with shiitake mushrooms.

Thai Patio also offers a wide variety of signature dishes such as green curry with free-range chicken, red prawn curry with pineapple, red roasted duck curry with lychees and seedless grapes, osso bucco in mild yellow curry with potato and okra, red lamb curry with peanuts, grilled beef striploin sauteed in green curry with Thai eggplant, and crispy pork knuckle sauteed in red curry jungle-style, to name a few. Vegetarian dishes are also available.

Szechuan food festival at Mandarin Oriental

Chef Hann Furn Chen of Tin Hau Restaurant of Mandarin Oriental Manila whips up the best Szechuan cuisine.

Savor the sizzling crispy rice cake with shrimps in tomato sauce and camphor, and tea-smoked duck served with pancake.

The sumptuous Peking duck is the piece de resistance of this food fete. A minimum of six diners can avail of a 50 percent discount on Peking duck cooked in a variety of ways. The food fest runs from Jan. 9 to 18.

Poolside barbecue at The Peninsula

The Peninsula Manila offers the “Hot off the Grill Poolside Barbecue Buffet” every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The promo runs until February.
