WATCH: Alex Gonzaga reacts to being included in ‘worst dressed’ list
MANILA, Philippines — Despite being tagged by some media outfits as one of the “worst dressed” at the recent ABS-CBN Ball, Kapamilya actress Alex Gonzaga remained positive, saying: "Beauty is in the eye of beholder.”
In an interview with Philstar.com, Alex said it is fine for her because she loves her dress that night.
“It's fine. Ako naghanap ng peg ng design ‘non e tapos two days lang namin ginawa ni Rajo (Laurel), so it was rush, pero nagandahan pa rin ako,” Alex said in an interview following her launch as Block & White Sakura White lotion endorser.
For her, the more important thing a dress should have is being comfortable, so she can move freely.
“I really wanted something that's very comfortable. Hindi siya masyadong OA pero I can move and it moves with me so I like it. Beauty naman is in the eye of the beholder so it's very subjective,” she said.
“Sometimes, it's really nice para sa’yo, but for other people hindi siya maganda. So you just have to respect it. Sa akin naman, as long as I find it very beautiful for me, it's fine. Kasi when you find it ugly tapos people are telling you to wear it, you feel very uncomfortable wearing it tapos maririning mo pa ‘yon. As long as you're comfortable with it, as long as you know it's beautiful,” she added.
Alex shared that her boyfriend Mikee Morada enjoyed his first ABS-CBN Ball.
Alex revealed she did not have plans to attend the ball actually, but the network’s management required them.
“Kasi dapat hindi ako pupunta talaga, dapat kasi may party si Seve, e kinancel naman na so sabi ko, ‘wag na lang ako pumunta kasi parang ang dami ko pa gagawin. We were required by our big boss, so we don’t have a choice,” Alex said.
Alex added that her boyfriend said the ball was so nice as showbiz personalities welcomed him.
“He likes it. Sinasabi niya everyone is really nice, walang showbiz. Parang everyone is approachable, welcoming. It's like prom talaga, it's ball talaga na parang sa school. Okay naman siya. Na-enjoy naman niya,” she said.
Since they attended for the first time together, Alex said she also enjoyed the ball especially since she was with her date.
“Mas na-enjoy ko kasi before I would always have to find people who I can talk to but with a date, you don’t have to look for your friends kasi you have someone to talk to, someone to share your opinions or thoughts.
