Swiss organist Guy Bovet celebrates the Philippines' unique organ heritage

-

MANILA, Philippines - Guy Bovet, recognized worldwide as a leading authority on Hispanic organ music, is holding a special concert on Nov. 17 at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila, to mark the global launch of Historical Organs of the Philippines,a collection of four compact discs featuring six of the Philippines’ patrimonial pipe organs. Bovet’s special concert is made possible by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines and Leo and Dona Renier, Bovet’s close friends, who spearheaded the restoration works of the Las Piñas Bamboo Organ. The Zuellig Building is the major sponsor of Bovet’s musical performance and CD launch. The complete collection of “Historical Organs of the Philippines” will be on sale at San Agustin Church and in all the churches featured in the CD collection.
