'The Face' at Sining Kamalig

MANILA, Philippines - Sining Kamalig and Artis Corpus Gallery will present their ninth collaborative exhibition “Experience the Face” on Dec. 6 at Sining Kamalig, Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao, QC. The show runs until Dec. 29.

The exhibit features the works of Ang Kiukok, Mark Andy Garcia, Emmanuel Garibay, Lao Lianben, Jonathan Olazo, Onib Olmedo, Levin Paras, Lynyrd Paras, Neil Pasilan, Ryan Rubio, Gino Tioseco, Oca Villamiel, Grandier Bella, Jose Ibay and John Marin from the collection of exhibit curator Leovino Ma. Garcia, former dean, School of Humanities, Ateneo de Manila University.

Six shows at Nineveh Artspace

In celebration of its seventh year, Nineveh Artspace will hold six shows from Nov. 28 to Dec. 15 at Nineveh Artspace, 2452, 1st Ave., Villa Silangan Subd., Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

 “Jeru-Jerusalem” by Kalye Kolektib (Alfredo Esquillo Jr., Robert Besana, Kirby Roxas, Dennis Atienza, Alvin Cristobal and Archie Ruga) tackles redundancy, myth making and occultism in Mount Banahaw.

“Studio” by Jojo Barja, Alex Abon, Tupe Guillergan and Prince Charming, takes the studio photography experience to a different albeit personal level.

“Premonition,” by Ronald Jeresano and Nica Acantilado, portrays the artists’ anxiety and vague feelings of disquiet about the not-so-distant future.

Mas o Menos,” by Noel Soler Cuizon, translates his life-changing experience to new visual trajectories.

“Legacy,” by Dennis Atienza, visualizes anew the cultural artifacts and influences of our colonizers.

Alipinay,” by Lotsu Manes, is a comic yet sad commentary on the Filipina as an OFW, a domestic helper akin to a slave.

CCP 13 Artists Awardee Noel Soler Cuizon curates the show.
