On-the-spot art contest for Araw ng Maynila set
MANILA, Philippines - Museo Pambata is holding the sixth annual Araw ng Maynila On the Spot Art Contest on June 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum located along Roxas Boulevard.
The art contest is open to all children residing in the City of Manila aged five to eight years old (Level 1), nine to 12 years old (Level 2) and 13 to 15 years old (Level 3). The theme will be announced on the day of the contest.
Interested participants can register by calling the Museo Pambata office at 523-1797 to 98 or 536-0595. All registered participants are requested to bring with them the following: art materials (1/4 illustration board, oil pastels/craypas) a copy of their birth certificates and a letter of recommendation from their barangay chairman on the day of the contest. Deadline of registration is on June 19. Only the first 50 registrants in each level can participate in the contest. Prizes include trophies, art and school supplies and certificates.
The Araw ng Maynila On The Spot Art Contest was first organized by Museo Pambata in June 2003 as a venue for children, particularly Manila’s youth, to express their hopes and dreams through art.
