Former 'PBB' housemate Emilio Daez reveals ABS-CBN leading man dream
MANILA, Philippines — The younger brother of actor Mikael Daez and former housemate of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition," Emilio Daez, shared that he had a clear vision of his showbiz career path — to be one of ABS-CBN's prime leading men.
“Leading man talaga ang pangarap ko nung pumasok ako ng industriya — walang iba kundi maging leading man ng ABS-CBN,” he said.
Emilio, together with his fellow Star Magic artist Kira Balinger, talked about their experiences as former "PBB" housemates at the recent press conference hosted by their talent agency.
The former investment banker saw his "PBB" stint as an opportunity to develop himself as an actor. Inside the seclusion of the famous TV house along with his fellow celebrity housemates, he learned a few things about himself and about living with other people who are initially strangers, but now have become friends.
"Mas nakilala ko 'yung sarili ko. Kasi sa bahay ni Kuya, marami pong mga beses na nagre-reflect ka talaga mag-isa kasi wala kang cellphone, wala kang distractions...
"Kasi pagpasok ko ng bahay, one of my goals was to become a better actor. And how can I become a better actor? I have to understand myself first more. So, talagang dinadamdam ko talaga lahat ng nararamdaman ko, pinapansin ko, and I believe that’s one of the keys to become an actor. You have to understand yourself first, feel everything, and hopefully it will translate on screen," Emilio said.
During his eviction with his duo, GMA-7 and Sparkle artist Michael Sager, two weeks ago, it sparked online discussion. Many online users expressed dismay over their untimely exit from the house, saying their duo, endearingly called MiLi by fans, deserved to stay longer inside due to their leadership skills and lively personalities.
"Ang hirap maniwala na parang ang warm ng reception ng mga tao sa inyo...It really just makes me want to be a better person, work harder, and be the best that I can be para sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta," Emilio noted about his newfound fame.
Before entering "PBB," Emilio had also already stepped into acting with a role in the television drama-thriller “Pamilya Sagrado,” where he starred alongside Piolo Pascual and Kyle Echarri.
Now that he is out of the house, Emilio shared that he is fully embracing the opportunities coming his way and staying focused on his dream of becoming a leading man.
His dream is slowly becoming a reality as he is soon to be seen in the upcoming iWantTFC original series “Love At First Spike,” playing the lead role.
