Body Talk with Jerico Ejercito

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

One more Ejercito (related to the Estradas and the Estregans) coming up.

The newcomer is none other than Jerico Ejercito, son of former Laguna Gov. E.R. Ejercito.

He’s the team captain of the Track and Field team of De La Salle University where he’s pursuing a Master’s Degree in Communication (major in Applied Mass Media), the same school where he graduated with a degree in AB Political Science.

A Virgo (born Aug. 30, 1992), Jerico stands 5’8”; weighs 150 lbs.; and wears medium-sized shirt, medium-sized briefs and size-10 shoes.

Is he following in his father’s footsteps into both showbiz and politics?

“As of now,” said Jerico, a spitting image of his father, “I’d choose to build myself up into showbiz.”

Like most of his relatives, he is a showbiz-bred guy.

“I feel lucky that my family’s commitments and responsibilities in showbiz and politics eventually shaped my upbringing,” admitted Jerico. “I learned how to stay down-to-earth. I also understood the pros and cons of facing challenges in showbiz and politics so that when I venture into those fields, I will be ready.”

Of his relatives, Jerico picked former Pres./Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada as his idol.

“His roles as an action star and his record as a politician make me look up to him like no other.”

“Growing up, I have slowly gained most of his talents which included being an athlete, a born leader and having the natural skills of acting. But I dance a whole lot better than he does.”

Now that he’s into showbiz, what genre (action, drama or romantic-comedy) would he want to excel in? Any pointers from his father?

“I would take any genre that I’d get a chance to be in as a challenge,” replied Jerico. “Even though I’d want to go into the action genre, I would still like to experience the other genres to further enhance my skills and talents.”

What’s usually for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

“Cereals/oats, plus fruits for breakfast. Usually beef/meat/chicken and veggies for lunch. And usually pasta or meals with fish for dinner.”

What food do you always crave for, what food do you avoid?

“Most of the time, I crave for pizza and tacos because there are certain kinds of pizzas and tacos that have balanced ingredients of carbs and protein, unlike other foods which have more of one than the other. I avoid oily/shiny food, those that are too salty and too sweet. As consistent as possible, I go on a balanced diet.”

Any snacks in between meals?

“Sometimes, I eat high-protein peanut butter with bread or tuna sandwich with veggies but without mayo, of course.”

How much water do you take per day (soda, coffee, tea or energy drinks)?

“Because I train almost every day, I take at least five liters of water a day or even more, depending on the activities that I’ve done. I avoid drinking soda because I could feel the heavy amount of sugar and other ingredients that gets into my body and that stays usually until the following days. I’m more of a coffee drinker, too.”

What vitamins do you take?

“Vitamin C, multi-vitamins and calcium.”

What workout do you do?

“I’m a track and field player, a half sprinter/middle distance runner. My main events are 400-meter dash and 800-meter run. With that, my workouts play around explosive movements, speed endurance and endurance, specifically for my sport on the track oval, stairs, roads and gym.”

What part of your body needs improvement?

“Since I used to compete for physique, I have already reached the point where I am already satisfied with my body. I have nothing much to make up for. As of now, I think my body is perfectly shaped for my sport.”

What part of your body is most vulnerable?

“The strongest ones are my hamstrings but at the same time, those are the ones that can easily get injured because of wrong training, no warm-up or other things that can injure them.”

What part of your body is your favorite?

“My favorites are my core and legs. My overall strength usually comes from my well-conditioned core that makes more power for my legs used for sprinting or any activity in use of those.”

What part of a woman’s body do you notice first?

“It depends on the woman’s physical appearance.”

What else in a woman turns you on?

“The positive totality of the woman’s attitude, looks and hobbies. Usually, pretty, hot, down-to-earth and athletic girls turn me on.”

And what’s in a woman that turns you off?

“Women who aren’t that OC with general cleanliness.”

How’s your love life?

“As of now, I’m single, free and ready to party anytime!”

How’s your sex life?

“Since I’m single, any close temptation is an option for me to take.”

Do you have a nightlife?

“I usually do night-outs on Fridays or Saturdays.”

How much sleep do you get per night?

“As much as possible I try to get at least six to eight hours for me to stay fresh the next day.”

Favorite sleepwear?

“Thin long sleeves and boxers.”

Do you snore??

“Nope.”

Do you talk in your sleep?

 “Nope.”

Do you sleepwalk?

“Nope.”

How many pillows do you sleep with?

“Six.”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“I watch TV series, play iPhone games, but before those, I pray to God for the blessings that I get.”

First thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

“I take a bath and brush my teeth while showering.”

How do you unwind, cope with stress?

“I make certain time sitting with a cup of coffee and plan things out clearly to solve each challenge that I’m into to make things set and less stressful.”

Name three men that you think have nice bodies.

“Jeremy Buendia, Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique Division 2014 Champion. Lazar Angelov, physique athlete/nutritionist. And Manny Pacquiao, boxer/athlete.”

And three women.

“Amanda Latona, IFBB Pro Bikini competitor. Adriana Lima, model, actress and Victoria’s Secret Angel. And Allyson Felix, American track and field sprint athlete.”
