KapuSONG Pasko spreads cheer

- Ver Paulino - The Philippine Star

ILOILO CITY ,Philippines  — The Event Center of Robinsons Place Iloilo sizzled as Kapuso mounted a mall show to remember. Dubbed Jammin’ sa KapuSONG Pasko, the concert series was pieced together by the narrative of a child — played by Yogo Singh — dreaming of Christmas. Yogo appeared in a video opening the giant boxes of gifts set before him, each one revealing a Kapuso artist who broke into a special performance which makes the holiday atmosphere all the more dreamy and exciting.

The crowd roared as Heart Evangelista and Jennylyn Mercado appeared on stage. Screams from thousands of loyal Kapuso Ilonggos filled the venue as Jennylyn sang Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say and thanked the Ilonggos for making Protegé the most talked-about reality show in the country. Heart, on the other hand, rendered Price Tag and even took off her shoes to get down on stage and meet the crowd. Some fans were lucky as they got to hug and even kiss their favorite celebritites.

Kris Lawrence, Mike Tan, Geoff Eigenmann and Daniel Matsunaga took turns performing. Bela Padilla gamely joined the fun. She elicited a lot of screams from fans. Everyone was surprised when Bela showed the rocker in her as she performed What’s Up and Love Story.

The Kapuso treat never stopped there. After Iloilo, the stars will also serenade the Bicolanos on Nov. 13 at SM City Naga; the Davaoeños, Dec. 2, SM City Davao; the Cebuanos, Dec. 10, SM City Cebu; and the Pangasinenses, Dec. 17 at CSI City Mall, Dagupan.
