Smart launches new innovative bucket promo

MANILA, Philippines - Leading wireless services provider Smart Communications Inc. has launched another innovative bucket promo — one which combines “all-net” SMS with “on-net” voice — in a move that demonstrates the company’s intent to remain in the forefront of offering relevant, real value-for-money bundled services.

Smart recently enhanced its ‘Lahatxt’ bucket SMS package, which now gives prepaid subscribers free consumable calling minutes for every top-up of Lahatxt 20 and Lahatxt 35 Combos. Smart has over 44 million mobile subscribers, of which about 90 percent are on prepaid.

“We are offering this kind of bundled product to further sharpen our means of addressing the different needs of different segments of the prepaid market,” Smart wireless consumer division head Danilo Mojica said.

The enhanced Lahatxt 20 Combo allows subscribers to send 100 text messages to any number within any local mobile network, and to make calls totaling 10 minutes to any number within the Smart and Talk ‘N Text network, valid for one day. The other variant, Lahatxt 35 Combo, allows subscribers to send 150 messages to any network, and enjoy the free consumable 20-minute call to any number within the Smart and Talk ‘N Text network, valid for two days.

“This offer also gives us the opportunity to make our subscribers’ Smart Buddy SIMs more relevant to them by offering more connectivity options and by breaking down network borders,” Mojica added. 

To avail of the Lahatxt Combos, subscribers may top up via e-load or register to the promo by sending L20 (for Lahatxt 20 Combo) or L35 (for Lahatxt 35 Combo) and send to 2266. To enjoy the corresponding free calls, subscriber simply needs to dial *2266 plus the 11-digit Smart or Talk ‘N Text number (ex: *226609181234567). The subscriber must maintain P1 airtime balance to continue using the package. These combos will be available until end-June 2011.

Even while registered to the Lahatxt Combo package, a subscriber is still allowed to avail of other service packages and promos. Multiple availment of Lahatxt Combos is also allowed, however, validity of top up will still follow the specified number of days.

Smart Load and other bucket offers are available from any of Smart’s nationwide network of over 1.3 million load sellers.
