MMFF 2014: Horror returns in ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll XV’

MANILA, Philippines - After being absent in the cinemas last year, the Metro Manila Film Festival staple “Shake, Rattle and Roll” returns with its 15th edition in this year.

 

As always, the movie has three episodes: “Ahas,” directed by Dondon Santos; “Flight 666,” directed by Perci Intalan;” and “Ulam,” directed by Jerrold Tarog.

 

The horror movie anthology serves a number of firsts for the long-running film series. 

 

For one, it’s the first of all the “SRR” movies to star one actor in all of its three parts. John Lapus, who has starred in a number of “Shake, Rattle and Roll” movies, will star in all three episodes of the movie’s 15th edition. 

 

It will also see ABS-CBN actor Matteo Guidicelli and GMA-7 actress Lovi Poe team up for the first time. 

 

The episode “Ahas” will tackle a popular Metro Manila 80s urban legend: the story of a half-woman, half-snake hiding inside a department store.

 

“Shake Rattle and Roll XV” also stars Carla Abellana, JC de Vera, Dennis Trillo, and Erich Gonzales, among many others.
