MANILA, Philippines – Christmas came early if  you're a basketball fan.

More so if you're a follower of the reigning NBA Champions.

The Golden State Warriors, through their official Facebook page, announced early Thursday that they will be rolling out special shirts in celebration  of the Filipino Heritage Night this coming Sunday.

The #Warriors will become the first team in the NBA to wear special edition Filipino Heritage shooting shirts to celebrate Filipino Heritage Night on Saturday.FULL DETAILS » http://on.nba.com/1PCBrDo

In a separate statement, the Warriors said they will host the event featuring the Brooklyn Nets at their homestead.

"A portion of the proceeds from each event ticket sold will be donated to support local Filipino organizations throughout the Bay Area," it added.

The limited edition apparel, dubbed as "Kampeon" t-shirt,  is printed with the familiar elements straight off the national flag -- the three stars and the sun. Within the sun crest is a an outline of the Warriors' official logo, a vectorized illustration of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A second Filipino Heritage Night is also slated for March 2016, according to the same release. The Dallas Mavericks, who have sort of clamped down on a significant number of followers after enlisting home-grown talent Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. during the NBA Summer League, will be hosting the second iteration of the event.

This is not the first time that the Filipino Heritage Night generated this much buzz among basketball fans in the Philippines. The Los Angeles Lakers' Fil-Am guard Jordan Clarkson, even before he was even considered to play for the men's national basketball team, was the Lakers' poster boy for the same event during its Detroit edition that featured his team and the Pistons almost a year ago.

Also last year, the Los Angeles Clippers mounted the same festivities during their game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The shirts look fancy though. You might consider asking your family or friends over at the Bay Area to help you score a piece of history, don't you think?

It's a perfect time to be a basketball fan, indeed.
