Karting super series back at Clark

MANILA, Philippines - Eduardo Coseteng Jr. of Eagle Cement and Zachary David of Formula-E Racing seek crucial wins in their respective divisions as action heats up in the fifth leg of the Petron Blaze 100 ROK Cup Karting Super Series tomorrow at the Clark International Speedway in Clark, Pampanga.

With a sweep of the qualifying, pre-final and final races in the Asian Karting Open race last August, Coseteng Jr. wrested the solo lead in the Mini-ROK Blaze 100 class with a total of 205 points with Flynn Jackes of Singapore-based KartMaster Drakar Racing Team dropping to second with 187 points.

At third with 151 points, Bianca Bustamante of Formula-E Racing is confident of upending her male rivals with Bobby Redpath of KartMaster Drakar Racing Team, toting 138 points, also out to crowd the leaders in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama.

Also in the 13-man grid are Rap Rap Gutierrez, Jarred Kim of Tuason Racing, Mikey Jordan and Larco Cortez of Formula-E Racing, Dylan Arambulo of Tough Gear Racing, Cebuano Seven Aleman, Ethan Tan, Keith Co and Sean Draeco McLelland.

David is eyeing his fourth straight win in the Cadet Blaze 100 against Spencer Troy Cortez, Joaquin Garrido, Rav Ezra Gaspar and Cebuano Seven Aleman.

With 230 points, David enjoys a wide margin over Cortez (154) and Garrido (146 points).

William Casequin and Mikey Jordan also set out to keep their lead in their respective divisions with the former, with 217 points, bannering the Formula SL Novice cast which also includes Sean Draeco McLelland, who has 212 points, Julia delos Angeles of Tuason Racing, Jose Wilfredo Dizon and Ayrton de Vera.

Jordan, on the other hand, is in the lead in the KF Junior Restricted Blaze 100 with 233 points with McLelland and Jackes toting 170 and 161 points, respectively.
