Pirates nip Cardinals, chalk up win no. 2

MANILA, Philippines --In the second game of NCAA Monday, Lyceum drew strength from Joseph Gabayni double-double effort as it edged Mapua, 80-78, to jump to a share of fifth spot with Jose Rizal.

Gabayni had game-highs 23 points and 10 boards to propel the Pirates to their second win in four starts.

The Cardinals fell to their fourth straight defeat.
