NEW YORK – The NBA Global Games 2013, which tips off Oct. 5, is among the most comprehensive slate of international games the NBA has ever undertaken.

For the 2013-14 season, NBA Global Games includes a record 12 NBA teams playing 10 games (eight preseason and two regular-season games) in 10 cities in seven countries.

The following is a look at NBA Global Games 2013 by the numbers:

4 â€“ Places NBA games will be played for the first time (Brazil, Philippines, Bilbao, Spain and Manchester, England)

2 â€“ First time playing international regular-season games in two countries (Mexico and United Kingdom)

116,341 â€“ Miles NBA teams collectively will travel

1,138 â€“ Media credentials issued

215 – Countries and territories where Global Games 2013 will be broadcast

20– International players from the NBA participating in Global Games 2013

455 Million â€“ Total number of followers and likes combined across all league, team, and player pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Sina and Tencent

146, 20 â€“ Following these games, the NBA will have staged 146 games (regular season and preseason) in 20 countries and territories across Europe, the Americas and Asia since 1978

14 – NBA.com international sites will offer local language and insight

12 – NBA Legends traveling to interact with fans around the world

10 – NBA Cares events being held in nine cities in eight countries on four continents

The eight preseason games as part of NBA Global Games – which will feature the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, and Washington Wizards – will be played in Beijing, Bilbao, Istanbul, Manchester, Manila, Shanghai, and Taipei from Oct. 5 through Oct. 18.

NBA Global Games will continue in the regular season with games in Mexico City, featuring the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 4, and in London, featuring the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 16.
