Corpus, Green score aces in ICTSI jungolf
MANILA, Philippines - Hole-in-one feats by Christopher Corpus and Samantha Green highlighted the recent eighth and final leg of the ICTSI Jungolf Summer Circuit dominated by Koreans at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.
Corpus, playing in boys Class B, holed his tee-shot with a Honma pitching wedge on the sixth hole while Green, playing in girls Class C, aced the third hole with a Callaway 9-iron. It was the most holes in one scored in one day in a jungolf tournament in recent years.
Hwang Kang Youl, Song Seong Hyo and Park Min Ung pulled off back-to-back wins by topping boys Class A, Class B and Class C, respectively, in the tourney backed chiefly by ICTSI as Koreans won six of the eight divisions disputed.
Green lost to Euna Koh in girls Class C while Corpus placed third behind Song and Seo Jun Gyu.
Aidric Chan claimed Class D, winning by nine over Ira Alido with his 235.
Jan Sol Punzalan (Class A) and Dana Gonzales (Class B) joined Koh and Min Jeong Hwang (Class D) as girls division winners in the summer circuit which ends at the Ayala Greenfields course is also supported by Philippine Airlines, Teriyaki Boy, Sizzling Pepper, Golf Depot, Chevrolet, Friends of Jungolf, Duty Free, San Miguel Corp., Coca-Cola and Inquirer Golf.
Phil Kyu Cho was the special division winner with his rounds of 77, 76 and 83.
