Dandan claims 2 wins in LACO tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Kyle Dandan hammered out two big wins yesterday to lead the preliminary round winners in the second LACO Masters Cup at the La Consolacion Sports Complex courts in Las Piñas City.

Dandan subdued Soo Han Chung, 7-6 (4), 6-3, in the morning match and then returned in the afternoon to hand RK Barte his second loss, 6-1, 7-6 (4).

Earlier, Johnny Arcilla thumped Barte, 6-1, 6-3, after which PJ Tierro joined the winners’ circle with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Onyok Anasta.

Also making his presence felt was Rolando Ruel, who rallied past Rocky Paglalunan, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-1.

The champion in this tournament sponsored by Stronghold Insurance Co. Inc., Utility Assurance Corp., Power Zaver techno Services Corp. and Emerald Multi Resources Manufacturing Corp. will receive P60,000.

The runner-up will get P30,000 while the other participants will have consolation prizes of at least P6,000.
