Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino launches grand lobby

MANILA, Philippines - A grand affair unfolded at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino as the flagship property of Waterfront Hotels Inc. unveiled its newest pride recently.

Waterfront Cebu has stood the test of time and has remained to be one of the premier hotels in the country with an array of world-class facilities coupled with excellent Filipino hospitality.

From its striking exterior, top-notch outlets, luxurious room and service amenities down to its grand convention facilities, Waterfront Cebu proves to be a pride on its own.

Last July 27, Waterfront redefined modern elegance with the official grand launching ceremony that took place in its sophisticated new lobby.

Cebu’s government leaders, elite members of the society, and guests from the local and national media stood as witnesses as the hotel showcased a vision of grandeur.

The hotel’s general manager, Alfred Portenschlager, welcomed everyone as Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, Rep. Cutie del Mar, Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung and Department of Tourism Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Martinez headed the virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In celebration of this momentous event in the Waterfront history, a fashion show featuring the collections of Cebu’s top designers unfolded. Each collection was an embodiment of Waterfront Cebu’s most prominent features.

First to grace the all-white runway were the creations of Jun Escario, capturing the premier hotel’s majestic facade with linear jersey sheaths with metallic belts on display.

Illustrating the Gourmet Walk’s colorful mix of palate was Protacio Empace’s vibrant collection of checkered peplum with black lace knee grazing skirt and stripped and layered top with short pouf skirt.

The delicate details of the Ambassador Lounge were mirrored by the designs of Edwin Ao’s layered wool over textured fabrics. Representing the luxury of the Presidential Suite were the opulent creations of Oj Hofer.

Showcasing the Grand Ballroom’s splendor were the masterpieces of Philip Rodriguez’s heavily embellished red long sleeved top with accents of lace and sequins.

Finally, ending the parade of artistic creations with a bang, and capturing the polished look of the Lobby Lounge was Cary Santiago’s chic trio of black column dresses.

Another highlight of the evening came in the form of a state-of-the-art entertainment as Waterfront’s vast walls turned into the perfect canvass for a unique corporate audio-visual presentation that summed up Waterfront Cebu’s journey to grandeur.

It was indeed a remarkable night for Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and with the opening of its new lobby, it vows to continue its efforts in pushing excellent Filipino hospitality to the forefront of the tourism industry.
