The classics are so back with Longchamp

MANILA, Philippines - Women are now more discerning in taste when choosing the right accessories. Pieces that are flexible whatever time of day are the fashion savvy’s favorites. No wonder style stars Mika Lagdameo, Anna Palabyab and Stephanie Zubiri, illustrious for their fashion choices, share a love for classics with Longchamp’s latest collection.

“The Happy Tote is something that can go with pretty much anything,” shares Mika, “I can use it when I go to work, to the gym or even when I spend the day out with my kids.” Having an eye for bigger bags, the Happy tote goes well with Mika’s day to day activities because it can conveniently carry all of her important things like a camera, her makeup kit and even her checkbook. For her, Longchamp is ever classy and versatile. “I’ve always had a Longchamp bag. In fact, the reason I first bought one was to take it to the beach...then it ended up being my ‘everyday’ bag,” continues Mika.

No one can miss Stephanie Zubiri in a crowd and this eye-catcher keeps her Longchamp as a personal favorite. Together with Mika, she also loves the Happy Tote because of its versatile and metallic colors. “Pewter and gold can go with anything. It’s so easy to just throw on and it’s perfect for traveling. There’s also still something very edgy and chic about metallics but the shape is very practical,.” says Stephanie. Every time she shops for a bag, she makes sure of three things, style, quality and space. As a chef, Stephanie needs a bag that can carry everything she needs and at the same time is well made and timeless. “I don’t buy bags every day. I choose pieces because it’s love at first sight. I also choose bags that I can use over and over again.”

And over the years, Stephanie has collected different Longchamp bags. “All my life I dreamt about having matching luggage just like in the old movies. I collected different styles of Longchamp bags in red, and now I have from the littlest makeup case to my suitcase.” For her Longchamp remains the “epitome of traveling practical yet stylish”. In her travels around the world, she still chooses Longchamp because “they are clean, easy, they’re water resistant, very durable and I love that little touch of tan leather.”

The Happy totes come in metallic leather with colors like rose gold, bronze and steel. These are sober and practical models made using smooth and very supple calf hide leather. It has Liberty lining that adds a touch of freshness to this “girly” line.

Anna Palabyab goes for Longchamp’s signature shape in the Victoire. “This bag’s clay color makes it perfect to use during the day. I feel I can wear it with almost anything.”

The Victoire handbag is a fantasy line that plays with one of the emblems of the brand: the horse. All over the world the horse can be seen on Longchamp products, and now it is magnified making the focus in the overall design.

Anna adds, “The Le Pliage is also a personal favorite because it’s so practical. I always bring one or two whenever I travel because it’s easy to just fold up in my suitcase. For me, Longchamp is a brand that combines luxury and affordability and I feel I can never have enough of them!”

Longchamp’s autumn line also sees the new variations of its iconic Gatsby bag. This season, the Gatsby design steps out as a city-smart handbag on a short chain and leather shoulder strap. The line’s signature square lock is reinterpreted in the strap’s angular metal links, bringing a graphic urban edge to the design. New textures of the Gatsby bag are also in the lustrous leopard-styled lambskin, offering a timelessly seductive take on the season’s animal inspiration. Equally striking is the Gatsby Bijou, a precious patchwork of different leathers   python-styled buffalo, suede calf leather and lambskin  with a shearling flap embellished with glittering strass.
