Hong Kong takes travelers on a culinary journey

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The CCB (Asia) Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival kick-starts the feasting on Oct. 22 to 25 at Central Harbourfront Event Space, filling four days with non-stop action as visitors navigate through 300 booths showcasing winning dishes of the 2015 Best of the Best Culinary Awards, and signature dishes from many of Hong Kong’s renowned hotels and restaurants.

Try and taste premium and rare wines at the Riedel Grand Tasting Pavilion; party favorites like champagne at the Cheering Zone, and fine wine and delicacies from Europe, Japan, the US and many more at the country pavilions. Everyone is encouraged to check out new products, producers, whiskeys and craft beers at the Discovery Zone, and to learn from the masters at the Wine Experts Zone.

The festival also sets up the exclusive Tasting Room, a privileged and stylishly set dining area surrounded by Hong Kong’s iconic skyline. It features a lineup of culinary events jointly presented by international and local chefs, plus programs that include thematic wine lunch and dinner, and wine classes.

Hong Kong’s Wine & Dine month continues with more culinary experiences with the Watson Wine Week, which will be held on between Oct. 26 to 31, featuring a grand tasting and a series of tutored master classes and wine dinners, hosted at some of Hong Kong’s top venues. On Nov. 5, the website of the world famous wine critic James Suckling and luxury lifestyle magazine Hong Kong Tatler will pair up for a spectacular walk-around tasting that showcases the 100-plus top-rated wines as JamesSuckling.com and Hong Kong Tatler present Great Wines of the World 2015.

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2015 will also be held between Nov. 5 to 7 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, offering a wide range of high quality wine and spirits, as well as wine production, products and services. Throughout November, visitors can also take part in a series of different Food and Wine Tasting Classes and Cooking Classes, from wine appreciation, exclusive visits to a private cellar, dim sum making, learning about truffles, to the secrets of cooking with wine.
