Rustan’s Supermarket opens 20th branch in Century City Mall

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -Rustan’s Supermarket is starting the year right with the opening of its 20th branch — and its first for the year -- at the newly-opened Century City Mall in Makati.

The new branch was unveiled with a grand bread-breaking ceremony —also the first of its kind in the country, led by Rustan’s Supercenters Inc. (RSCI) president Donnie Tantoco, who was joined by Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco Sr., RSCI chairman Bienvenido Tantoco Jr., RSCI COO Pierre Deplanck, Mrs. Nena Tantoco, founder and chairman of Century Properties Group Ambassador Jose Eduardo Antonio, and Century City Mall general manager Graham Coates.

Rustan’s Supermarket VP Manuel Albertoand and actress / producer Angel Jacob were also present during the opening day festivities.

In signature Rustan’s Supermarket fashion, opening day signaled great treats for shoppers, such as free breakfast for the first 500 customers and a special bonus for Rustan’s Fresh Card holders: an additional 20,000 points with a minimum purchase of P1,000 during opening day. Special leaflets were also available around the supermarket, which highlighted 20 featured products at 20 percent off.

Strategically located at the corner of the busy Kalayaan Avenue and Salamanca Street, Rustan’s Supermarket Century City Mall allows nearby residents and working professionals in Makati to live better and healthier lifestyles with its fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as choice grocery products and pantry essentials.

Designed to reflect the vision of a truly modern Makati, the Century City Mall is part of a fully master-planned development that includes luxury residential skyscrapers, office towers, and a medical arts building, making it an apt location for Rustan’s Supermarket to cater to a growing number of discerning shoppers.

“As this is our latest store, and landmark 20th branch, it should be our best Rustan’s Supermarket so far,” said RSCI president Donnie Tantoco. “And I don’t mean just in terms of how it looks, but also what it provides – solutions, offers and presentations we created learning from our past, collaborating with suppliers, and with the knowhow of our partner Dairy Farm. More importantly, we focus on how it can serve and make life easier and happier for its primary customer: the Filipino working mother and her family.”

He added, “Rustan’s Supermarket was born in 1970; it was started by my lolo Benny and Mr. Jun Lopez. We have been blessed with longevity; we owe that to the relationships that we have built within our company among our employees, our customers, and partners. These are relationships of deep trust, mutual respect, and real friendship. Our relationship spans years, decades, and it has given Rustan’s Supermarket the confidence to face this period of very fast-paced and exciting growth.”
